Cambodia Visa

Cambodia e-Visa: Basic Information

A Cambodia e-Visa is an updated form of the traditional Embassy visas that dominated travel in the 20th century. This form of travel authorization has many nicknames, including electronic visa and eVisa, but they all mean the same thing: a simplified visa process for travelers.

Today, citizens from eligible countries can pre-apply for official government tourist visas to Cambodia online, without having to undergo extensive interviews, processing fees, or waiting periods.

Whether you're looking forward to visiting the enchanting natural landscape or exploring the rich culture of Phnom Penh and other cities, obtaining an eVisa before your trip is a key way to improve your peace of mind during your travel to Cambodia.

The eVisa application process is streamlined and can be completed through this website. Applicant are asked to fill out a form, upload a recent photo and the bio-data page of their passport, and pay by card or another accepted payment method. Each approved Cambodia visa will be sent to the applicant's email address within 3 business days. The visa application fee is 99 euros.

  • Types of eVisa

Cambodia currently offers one e-Visa type: the electronic tourist visa. The definition of "tourism" includes non-business activities such as going on vacation, visiting friends and relatives, enjoying the many natural and man-made wonders of Cambodia, etc. The tourist visa also covers travel through Cambodia for transit purposes; i.e., passing through Cambodia on your way somewhere else.

For travelers wishing to enter Cambodia for any other purpose, including business and medical treatment, we recommend that you contact a Cambodian Embassy to obtain a traditional visa.

For information regarding visa validity and stay length, see "eVisa Validity Period," below.

  • eVisa to Cambodia Application Form

Applying for an e-Visa for Cambodia involves three straightforward steps: Filling out the application form, uploading digital copies of your passport and a recent photo to the application, and paying the application fee. The entire process can be completed online, through this website. The entire tourist visa process typically takes up to 3 business days (72 hours).

    Step One: The Application Form

First, find our application panel in the left-hand sidebar of this website. Choose "tourism" as your purpose of travel and enter your citizenship. Finally, click "Apply Online" to be taken to our secure application form.

Your application will ask for basic details about your trip, including approximate date of arrival and desired point of entry. Your e-Visa will be valid for 3 months from its date of issue, so don't worry if you aren't sure about an exact date of arrival yet. Just be as specific as you can.

The application will also ask you for some information about yourself, such as your passport number and home address. The information you provide about your personal and passport details must be 100% accurate, or your application will not be accepted. You'll also be asked for an email address, to which your confirmation and your approved visa for Cambodia will be sent.

Please be aware that not all entry points into Cambodia possess the equipment to process electronic visas. Before you make your decision about where to enter the country, please check our list of "Ports Accepting e-Visas," below, to make sure that your desired point of entry (airport or border crossing) has the ability to accept eVisas. However, departure may be made from any airport, seaport, or border crossing.

Step Two: Uploading Your Passport and Photo

In the next step, travelers are asked to upload digital copies of their passports to their applications. Each traveller must provide a scan or digital photo of the bio-data page of their passport. Visa requirements dictate that passports must be valid at least 6 months past their desired date of entry to Cambodia, and have at least two blank pages at the time of entry. All applicants will also be required to upload a passport-style photo taken within the past six months.

Step Three: Payment, Confirmation, and Approval

After the visa application is filled out with your photo and your passport's bio-data page attached, use one of our secure online payment methods to pay the standard visa fee of 99 euros.

Shortly after you submit your travel visa application, you will receive an email containing your confirmation number. At that point, our Cambodia visa experts will have begun checking your application for eligibility and accuracy before passing it on to the Cambodian government for approval. You will receive your decision in three working days or less. Our success rate for Cambodian visa application approval is 99%.

Your approved Cambodia e-Visa will be sent in PDF form to the email address you provided on your application form. Please print out your visa and have it with you when you enter Cambodia.

  • eVisa Validity Period

The electronic travel authorization (e-Visa) for Cambodia is a tourist visa. The visa validity period begins on the date of issue, and extends for the next 90 days. The Cambodia e-Visa is single entry. During the validity period, the traveler may enter Cambodia one time and stay within the country for up to 30 days in a row. Each traveller in the e-Visa system is guaranteed the same amount of time Cambodia, so even if you enter the country on the last day of your visa's validity, you may still stay for up to 30 days if you wish.

  • eVisa Transit Information

The Cambodia e-Visa for tourism also includes the right to travel through Cambodia on the way somewhere else (a process called "transiting.") Travelers from eligible countries must be in possession of a Cambodian tourist e-Visa in order to transit through Cambodia. To obtain this visa, simply fill out the e-Visa application found on this website (see "eVisa to Cambodia Application Form," above.). If your citizenship is not with an eligible country, then you will need to obtain a traditional visa in order to transit through Cambodia.

  • Requirements on Arrival

Travelers to Cambodia must present the following two pieces of documentation to immigration authorities upon arrival: a valid passport, and a printed copy of their approved Cambodia e-Visa. You can expect immigration officials to inspect both documents, and then stamp your passport before welcoming you into Cambodia.

  • Ports accepting e-visas

It is extremely important for every e-Visa applicant to know that not all airports and ports in Cambodia support electronic visas. Additionally, please note that no seaports currently accept electronic visas. If you wish to enter Cambodia by sea, please contact your nearest Cambodian Embassy for information on obtaining a traditional visa. Departure, on the other hand, can take place from any airport, seaport, or border crossing.

Before you travel to Cambodia using an eVisa, please make sure that your desired point of entry is on one of the following lists:

    Airports:

    • Phnom Penh International Airport
    • Siem Reap International Airport
    • Sihanouk International Airport

    Border crossing points:

    • Cham Yeam (Koh Kong Province) (from Thailand)
    • Poi Pet (Banteay Meanchey Province) (from Thailand)
    • Bavet (Svay Rieng Province) (from Vietnam)
    • Tropaeng Kreal Border Post (Stung Treang) (from Laos)

The above ports only apply to enter Cambodia; departure can take place from any airport or border crossing.

If traveling by sea, you will need to apply for a regular visa at the embassy. E-visas are not supported at seaports in Cambodia.

In such cases, applicants must submit a new application, which our Cambodia visa service can help with.
  • The application processing period for a Cambodia visa takes a maximum of 72 hours (3 business days).
  • It is not possible to extend your stay digitally though our service; extensions can only be made on arrival, with the help of the Cambodian government and immigration authorities.
  • All tourists entering Cambodia with a valid e-Visa are guaranteed up to 30 days of stay. That means if you enter the country towards the end of your visa validity period, you may still stay up to 30 days - even if you enter on the very last day of validity.
  • No Cambodian seaports currently accept e-Visas. Some airports accept eVisas, but not all; additionally, it is possible to cross the border at certain points from Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. Please consult our list of "Ports Accepting e-Visas," above, for available points of entry.
