eVisa to Saudi Arabia: Basic Information
On September 27, 2019, Saudi Arabia introduced an eVisa program, allowing people from 49 countries to visit, by applying for a visa ahead of their trip. The electronic visa system is available to all citizens of visa-free countries. This means that anyone with a valid passport from an eligible country can apply for an eVisa by completing an online application form.
To travel to Saudi Arabia you need to submit an application through the website. All you have to do is to fill out the form and pay by credit card or another accepted payment method. After the process is completed, the visa will be sent to your e-mail address. An eVisa to Saudi Arabia is issued for tourist purposes and costs 149 Euro.
Types of eVisa
There is only one type of electronic Visa(eVisa) to Saudi Arabia:
Multiple entry tourist visa: – it is obtained for tourist purposes and in the case of a pilgrimage to Mecca (Umrah). It is not possible to obtain a business or work visa.
List of eligible countries
Citizens from the countries listed below must apply for an eVisa in order to travel to Saudi Arabia:
- Czech Republic
- Korea, South
- New Zealand
- Russian Federation
- San Marino
- United Kingdom
- United States of America
* including Hong Kong and Macau
If your nationality is not listed above, you should report to the embassy in order to obtain a regular Visa. The exceptions are citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia and residents of GCC countries who do not need a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia.
eVisa to Saudi Arabia Application Form
To obtain a visa to Saudi Arabia, you must submit a simple application online. To do this, simply complete the form providing your passport details and home address. In this application, you are also required to complete the information about the date of arrival in Saudi Arabia. If you do not know the exact date of your entry to Saudi Arabia, you can provide the approximate time of arrival. The eVisa will be valid for one year from the date of issue, so a very accurate date of your travel is not required.
When it comes to the type of entry, eVisa is accepted by all airports and seaports in Saudi Arabia. After completing the required data, you will be asked to attach a photo to the application. After sending the application, you will receive an e-mail confirmation of the submission of the application with information about the estimated time of processing the eVisa. The entire visa procedure usually takes 72 hours. The final result of your application will be sent to the e-mail address you provided. After receiving the eVisa, you do not have to print it, the eVisa will be automatically and electronically assigned to your passport. There is no need to have it printed however we still recommend saving a copy on your mobile phone.
If you are ready to complete the application, use the panel on the left. Then choose the type of travel (tourism) and enter your citizenship (the one you have in your passport). Finally, click "Apply online" and start filling out the form.
eVisa Validity Period
eVisa to Saudi Arabia is issued only for tourist purposes (including Umrah) and allows a 90-day stay in Saudi Arabia. It is valid for 1 year from the date of issue and authorizes multiple entries into the country.
eVisa Transit Information
When it comes to transit through Saudi Arabia, an eVisa is not required if you are not planning on leaving the transit area at the airport.
Requirements on Arrival
The eVisa number is automatically and electronically assigned to the passport number, so you do not need to have your eVisa printed, however, we recommend that you keep a copy of the eVisa on your mobile phone. You are required to carry a valid passport (with your eVisa assigned) and be able to show it at the airport.
Citizens of eligible countries must provide:
- Photograph of the applicant
- Participation in Umrah is only possible out of the Hajj season. To participate in Hajj you must apply for a special visa at the embassy (The Ministry of Hajj)'s
- Only Muslims can access the city of Mecca, while others can access the city of Madinah 's
- Participation in Umrah is also possible for unaccompanied male relatives 's
- Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia. An exception is passports issued by the United States 's
- When traveling with a passenger under the age of 18, you are obligated to submit an application for a guardian of a minor 's
- eVisa is accepted by all airports and seaports 's
