Saudi Arabia e-Visa Application

Saudi Arabia e-Visa: Basic Information

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia started its e-Visa program on September 27, 2019. An e-Visa for Saudi Arabia  is an electronic document that tourists from eligible countries can apply for online before travel, eliminating the need to pursue the costly and time-consuming process of obtaining a traditional Embassy visa.

For eligible travelers, an online visa application, a recent photograph, and a valid passport are all that's needed for pre-approved entry to Saudi Arabia. All Saudi e-Visas are issued for purposes of tourism, which includes the pilgrimage to Mecca (Umrah).

Read on to see if you are eligible to travel with a Saudi eVisa. If yes, you can apply through the Evisa Express website within minutes using our application form. An e-Visa to Saudi Arabia costs 149 euro.

All applicants can pay securely at the end of the application process. Once your application is approved, all you have to do is look in your email for your government-issued visa. The beautiful Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is waiting for you!

  • Types of e-Visa

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia offers only one type of eVisa to travelers:a multiple-entry tourist visa.

The Saudi Arabian tourist visa can be used for purposes such as travel for sightseeing or visiting family and friends. It also includes travel for the goal of participating in the pilgrimage to Mecca (Umrah.)

Saudi Arabia does not offer an eVisa for business travel.

So, what are the characteristics of a Saudi Arabia tourist e visa?

    • The Saudi Arabia tourist e-Visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issue.
    • The e-Visa is a multiple-entry visa. You can enter and exit the country freely during the validity period.
    • The e-Visa allows tourists to remain in Saudi Arabia for 90 total days out of the 365 days of validity.
  • List of eligible countries

  • e-Visa Application Form

Evisa Express is a trusted provider of electronic visa application services online. We act as a link between travellers and the government of Saudi Arabia. We pre-screen all applications to make sure our applicants have the strongest possible opportunity for approval.

Look to the left-hand sidebar on this page - there, you'll find our application portal. Simply input your goal of travel (tourism,) as well as your citizenship, and hit "Apply online." You'll be taken directly to your online visa application.

    About our application form

If you belong to one of the eligible countries listed above, and you are traveling for purposes of tourism, then it's simple to apply for your Saudi e-visa online. Our online form asks for key details about your trip, such as your passport details, email address, and home address.

Make sure that your passport will be valid at least 6 months from the time of application! You'll also be asked to provide information about your trip, including your projected date of arrival (entry) into Saudi Arabia.

We're aware that not all applicants know their exact date of entry at the time of application, so providing an estimate of the date is just fine. Finally, applicants will be prompted to attach a passport-style photo to the application.

    What next?

After you've finished filling out the online visa application, you'll be invited to pay using a credit card or any one of our other secure online methods of payment. The Saudi Arabia visa is 149 euro.

The processing period is initiated as soon as your payment is accepted, at which point you will receive an email containing a confirmation number for your submitted document.

The processing period for your electronic tourist visa may take up to 72 hours, but many travelers find that their e visa is approved more quickly. Your approved Saudi visa will be sent to the email you provided on your visa application.

You don't have to print it out - your e visa will be automatically connected to your passport as soon as it's approved. We do, however, recommend saving a copy on your phone, just in case.

    Entering Saudi Arabia

When you reach your point of entry, customs authorities will be able to see your visa in digital form as they're scanning your passport. All airports and seaports in Saudi Arabia are set up to accept electronic visas.

  • e-Visa Validity Period

Approval of an online visa application automatically triggers the start of the visa validity period. In the case of visas to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the e-Visa is valid for 1 year from the date it was approved.

Tourists may enter and exit Saudi Arabia as many times as they need to during that year; each visit can be a maximum of 90 days. Keep in mind that the electronic visa to Saudi Arabia is issued for tourist purposes only.

The definition of "tourism" does include the pilgrimage to Mecca (Umrah).

  • e-Visa Transit Information

Some countries require that travelers who simply wish to transit through the country on their way somewhere else need an e-Visa for transit. However, this is not the case for Saudi Arabia. Any traveler can transit through Saudi Arabia without a visa.

The only requirement is that you stay in the airport's transit area for the entire period of time before boarding your connecting flight.

  • Requirements on Arrival

All successful applicants are issued an electronic copy (PDF) of their e-Visa through their email. We recommend that you download this PDF onto your phone and have it available to show to any customs official who asks upon your arrival.

However, the Saudi Arabia visa system is very modern, and it is not not necessary to have a hard copy (print-out) of your electronic visa with you.

Your e-Visa will be digitally linked to your passport and customs authorities will be able to see this electronic copy automatically.

Required documents

The only required document when filling out an online application for an e-Visa for Saudi Arabia is a passport-style photograph of the applicant.

Though you won't need to use your passport for the application process, it's important that your passport be valid for at least 6 months from your date of application. Applicants with passports whose validity extends for less than 6 months from the application date will be denied.

One of the benefits of working with Evisa Express is that we check every application for details like these.

If your passport does not have the required validity period, we will refund your money or hold your application until you can provide an updated passport.
