There are several Oman visas that can be divided by their period of validity and purpose. We can also distinguish between unsponsored and sponsored visa categories. Online Visa to Oman

An online Oman visa can be used as a single-entry or multiple-entry type. The first option is valid for 30 days and enables one to stay in the country for up to 30 days, while the second one has a validity period of 365 days and also can be used for up to 30 days stay.

It is worth remembering that Oman online visa is a Tourist visa and it can't be used for a different purpose.

Note that GCC citizen can obtain an Electronic Oman visa when his/her profession is on the list accepted by the Oman government.

Short-term stay (Type C)

This type of visa is used in case your stay doesn't exceed 90 days. It is used for a short time period hence the name.

Tourist Visa

Tourist Oman visa is the most popular among visa types. Foreign nationals who would like to visit Oman must get a Tourist visa if they enter the country for tourism, sightseeing, and leisure. You can apply for an electronic Tourist visa. It is a very convenient option and thanks to it you can save time.

Business Visa

In the case of conducting business in Oman, visitors need to have a Business Oman visa. It can be used for meetings, conferences, fairs, conventions, etc. It is a sponsored visa as the invitation letter from the local sponsor, as well as a passport valid for at least 6 months are required to receive this Oman visa.

Family Visit Visa

A Family visit Oman visa is a perfect choice for those who want to go to Oman to meet with relatives, friends, or family members. It is worth knowing that you need to have an invitation letter made by the one who you would like to visit in order to get this visa. What is more, it enables you to stay in Oman for up to 90 days provided your passport is valid for a minimum of 6 months.

Culture/Sports Visa

A culture/Sports Oman visa is a single-entry visa that can be granted by the local sponsor. It is designed especially for professionals and participants of events and festivals that take place in Oman and it is valid for three weeks.

Also, it can be given to artists who would like to perform in Oman. To obtain it future visitors must have proof of the event and participation, like an invitation letter, tickets, etc.

Educational Visa

In the case of an internship or educational program in Oman, a short-term educational visa is required. The approval letter or training agreement should be attached to the application form.

Long-term Stay (Type D) Visa

A long-term visa can be used for a stay in Oman for a period longer than 90 days. We can distinguish three long-term Oman visas: Student visa, Employment visa, and Investor visa.

Student Visa

Student visa, as the name suggests, is intended for foreign nationals who would like to study in Oman. It is a multiple-entry visa that can be used even for 1 or 2 years. Proof from an educational institution is required for this visa type.

Employment Visa

This visa is a multiple-entry visa type for employment purposes. In order to get it, a foreign citizen must have an official request from an employer or a sponsor. Moreover, it can be extended.

Investor Visa

The Investor visa was designed for investing in Oman. It is valid for six months and it grants a two-year residence permit. Note that the proper authorities are responsible to verify the investments made by foreign nationals.

Transit Visa

Oman visas for transit are the best choice for those who need to enter the country just to reach their final destination later. They are single-entry visas valid for 72 hours. As in all cases, a valid passport for at least 6 months is required to obtain this visa.
