UK Removes All Travel Restrictions for Vaccinated Travellers
Following the national success of the vaccination program, the UK authorities have decided to remove obligatory testing for all fully vaccinated travelers arriving in the country.
Removing the testing obligation for vaccinated arrivals is a significant step aimed at reviving the travel sector disrupted by the long-lasting COVID-19 situation in the UK and worldwide.
UK Passenger Locator Form
All arrivals to the UK, regardless of vaccination status, will still need to complete the Passenger Locator Form - an online declaration confirming their health status and including other personal and travel-related essential information.
The form is to be simplified and include the confirmation of the vaccination status of a traveler, contact details, as well as travel history. Moreover, travelers will be given one additional day to fill out the PLF before a trip to the United Kingdom. Currently, they have 48 hours to complete it prior to the planned arrival.
After completing the online application, the QR code will be delivered to the applicant's email inbox. This unique code is necessary to board the flight and will be checked by the airport authorities upon arrival in the UK too.
Unvaccinated travelers
Entry restrictions for unvaccinated travelers are to be scaled down too. Starting from Feb. 11th, unvaccinated, or not fully vaccinated arrivals will only need to perform a pre-arrival test and take another post-arrival PCR test on or before the 2nd day. Self-isolation will be necessary only for those tested positive against COVID-19.
Not vaccinated or not fully vaccinated travelers will still need to take a pre-departure test and a post-arrival PCR test to be taken on or before the second day of stay in the UK. The test result must be uploaded when completing the Passenger Locator Form.
All travelers under 18 traveling inward, no matter vaccinated or not, are still to be recognized as fully vaccinated.
