It is announced that from December 1, 2024, to January 15, 2025, tourists to Ghana can get a visa on arrival without prior arrangements.

Currently, applicants just need to provide the required documents at the entry port and receive their visa after arrival in Ghana. It is a great opportunity to avoid hassle related to attending embassies and consulates in person.

The request to implement the new policy was issued by Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Minister of Transport, in a directive on November 28, 2024.

The initiative is a part of the “December in GH” campaign of the transformative 10-year “Beyond the Return” program.

The “December un GH” is the annual event by the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Beyond the Return Steering Committee that offers various traditional celebrations, festivals, musical performances, and art exhibitions.

The event is launched to build a stronger bond between Ghana and the global African community, encouraging cultural exchange and economic growth.

It also must cement Ghana’s reputation as an important destination both for visitors and investors.

CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman, draws attention to the importance of the new visa regime, convincing travelers to make the best of this exceptional offer.

The implementation of a visa on arrival should simplify the application procedures and attract more tourists to the country.

The new visa policy has been officially approved by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and validated by the Ministry of Transport.
