Qatar eVisa

Qatar eVisa: Basic information

Qatar eVisa is an online visa that is easily obtainable in an electronic form for all eligible travelers. The electronic visa system was introduced in Qatar in 2017 to ease the visa handling process for foreign visitors.

The online visa application process can be completed within a few minutes from home, ending with the approved eVisa arriving at the applicant's email address in PDF form.

Citizens from the qualified countries can apply online and receive their electronic visas upon providing the necessary details and documents.

Important notice: The accommodation proof required for the eVisa application must be booked through the official website of the Qatari government - Discover Qatar - for at least 3 nights.

The online Qatar visa serves as a single-entry permit that allows its holders to stay in Qatar for up to 30 days assuring a 90-day validity period.

Future Middle East visitors may apply for three eVisa for Qatar types, depending on their nationality or purpose of visit.

To make one's entry to Qatar successful, all visitors should have a valid passport and a printed copy of the approved online visa.

  • Qatar eVisa Types

No matter what type you are eligible for, the Qatar eVisa has to be printed out and taken with you to the airport. There are three different electronic visa to Qatar types; applicant's nationality decides which one the traveler can apply for. There's:

    • ETA: Electronic Travel Authorization permit is designed for people who are not eligible to enter Qatar visa-free but who have a valid residence permit or a visit visa to one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, USA, United Kingdom, New Zealand, or any of the Schengen Area country.

It serves as a single-entry permit valid for 90 days from the date of issue and allows its holders to stay in Qatar for 30 days. Only service fees need to be paid.

    • Online Tourist Visa: The online tourist visa is designed for citizens of countries who are not eligible for ETA and neither for the visa-free entrance. Qatar eVisa is a single-entry permit that allows 30 days of stay in Qatar. The validity period of 90 days starts on the date of issue.

    • GCC Residents Visa: It is a single-entry permit that allows its holders to stay in Qatar for 30 days. This type of eVisa remains valid for 90 days from the date of issue and it is designed for all GCC (the Gulf Cooperation Council) residents.
