Visa for Tanzania

eVisa to Tanzania: Basic Information

The e-Visa was officially started in November 2018 by the Immigration Commission of Tanzania. Consequently, travelers can apply for an online visa without visiting the embassy in person. All formalities related to obtaining an electronic visa do not require leaving your home - you can complete an e-visa application online on our website.

The electronic visa authorizes a one-time entry to Tanzania for no more than 30 days. The cost of e-Visa is 99 Euro.

US citizens are required to apply for a multiple-entry visa and it will cost 149 Euro.

  • Types of eVisa

There are two types of electronic visa to Tanzania:

Tourist eVisa – it is issued for tourist purposes such as holidays, visiting friends or relatives, etc.

Transit eVisa – it enables transit through Tanzania to another destination. The maximum stay allowed in Tanzania is 7 days. This e-visa is valid for transit purposes only. It cannot be used for tourist purposes.

Please be advised that only holders of regular or temporary passports issued by countries eligible for the electronic travel authorization program can apply for an e-visa.
