eVisa to Rwanda: Basic Information
An eVisa is an electronic document that allows you to enter Rwanda. The eVisa is available to all citizens of every country in the world. Essentially, everyone can apply for an eVisa. The entire process can be done online so you don't have to visit the embassy.
The price for issuing an eVisa for Rwanda is 39 Euro, 99 Euro, 129 Euro or 149 Euro depending on the nationality noted on the applicant passport, the purpose of stay and number of planned entries.
Types of eVisa's
There are four types of eVisa to Rwanda:
Single entry or multiple entries - both of them allows you to enter the country in tourism or family meeting purposes.
Conference - it is obtained for business purposes like participation in a conference or business meeting.
East African Visa - a document that will entitle your stay in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya. May be used for tourism or family meeting purposes. With this document you can enter all 3 of the abovementioned countries, however, the initial entry has to take place in Uganda or Rwanda.
List of eligible countries
All nationalities are eligible to apply for an eVisa to Rwanda as long as their passport is valid for a period of 6 months from the date of planned entry to Rwanda.
eVisa Rwanda application form
You are obliged to apply with at least 3 days advance.

We would like to inform you that the final decision and processing time is dependable on the government of Rwanda.
An approved eVisa will be sent to your email address. After you receive the email you are obliged to print the document out and show it at the airport upon arrival in Rwanda.
For completing the application, use the panel on the left. Choose one of the available purposes of stay and enter your citizenship. Click "Apply online" to fill out your application form.
eVisa validity period
Single entry eVisa and conference eVisa - both types enable a single entry for a maximum period of 30 days. In both cases, the eVisa validity starts at the moment of your planned entry to Rwanda.
Multiple entry eVisa - the validity period starts at the moment of your planned entry (provided beforehand in the application form). Each time your stay in Rwanda cannot exceed 90 days.
East Africa Visa - allows entering Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya multiple times. The validity period starts from the moment pointed out in the application form. Each time the applicant is entitled to stay within countries territory for a maximum period of 90 days.
Transit visa information
As long as an applicant is not planning on leaving the transit zone, there is no need for any additional documentation.
If you want to leave the permitted transit area of the airport, you need to get a transit visa at the Airport.

Requirements on arrival
You are obliged to carry 2 documents with you to the airport a printed out eVisa and a valid passport. You are going to be requested to present the documents in physical form. They are going to be verified by customs officials on arrival in Rwanda.

Each eVisa applicant has to enclose copies of the following documents:
- Scan or a photograph of passports' biodata page
- In the case on East Africa Visa and Conference eVisa an applicant is also obliged to attach a photograph of an applicant
ATTENTION: To be able to apply for an eVisa to Rwanda your passport has to be valid for a minimum period of 6 months.
- You are obliged to apply with at least 3 days advance.
- Every passport holder is compelled to enrol an application separately.
- You are bound to print the eVisa and present it with your passport at the border checkpoint of Rwanda.
- An eVisa can be only extended at any office of the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration or the closest land or air border
The renewal of the eVisa should take place before the expiration of the current visa.
- An eVisa does not authorise you any work activities.
- The validity of an eVisa starts from the date you intend to enter Rwanda, not from date of issue.
