Qatar has announced the removal of all coronavirus restrictions ahead of the approaching 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will start in Qatar on November 20th.

The Qatari Health Ministry removed all remaining travel restrictions on November 1st, 2022, with the aim of facilitating entry for international visitors to take part in this international men's football championship.

The final covid-related regulations to be lifted were the obligation to take a Covid-19 test

By removing the remaining measures, the Qatari authorities hope to encourage more international visitors to come to Qatar and participate in the event.

Removal of Covid-19 testing requirement

Starting from November 1st, all passengers arriving in Qatar are no longer required to provide a negative coronavirus test certificate.

Previously, arrivals had to submit a negative test result to enter Qatar, while Qatari citizens and residents were tested on arrival.

The new regulation lifting the testing requirements will remain in force until December 18th.

Travelers coming to Qatar still need to prove their health status via 'Ehteraz', while mandatory testing was temporarily lifted.

According to the official government website statement, travelers to Qatar do not need to pre-register via the Ehteraz app.

Nevertheless, downloading the app is required to present health status, for example, to access healthcare facilities in Qatar

Other Covid-19 regulations

Despite lifting all the remaining entry requirements in Qatar, there are still some protective measures in place across the country.

For instance, those who test positive for coronavirus while being in Qatar will need to self-isolate

Moreover, it is still necessary to use Ehteraz mobile app to access certain public and private healthcare premises.

All travelers to Qatar should also follow all the updates in entry regulations which are subject to change rapidly.
