The Mongolia eVisa is an electronic visa that allows for a single entry to Mongolia for eligible travelers. You can travel for reasons related to tourism, events, and transit.
The online visa system was introduced in October 2021 to speed up visa formalities.
Depending on the selected visa type, the visitor can spend from 10 days up to a month in Mongolia. The Mongolian electronic visa validity period is always 150 days.
Since then, travelers can apply for the Mongolian eVisa by completing a short application form online. Once they submit the required documents and cover the mandatory fee, they’ll soon receive a visa via email.
The requirements for the Mongolian online visa are minimal, including a valid passport, a photo of the applicant’s face, and return/onward travel flight tickets.
Types of Mongolia eVisa
While applying for the Mongolian eVisa, you can choose one of the three available visas.
All the online visa types allow for a single entry into Mongolia.
- Tourism Visa – issued for 150 days, permitting a stay of up to 30 days. The best choice to enjoy sightseeing or visit relatives abroad.
- Sports and Culture Visa – has a validity of 150 days and granted a 30-day stay. Suitable to participate in sports and cultural events.
- Transit Visa – remains valid for 150 days from the date of issue. You can spend 10 days in Mongolia before traveling to another country.
Pursuing activities other than those specified by your visa type is illegal and may result in fines or even deportation.

Citizens of India, Kuwait, and Qatar cannot enjoy visa-free entry to Mongolia but can apply for a visa on arrival if they travel via the Chinggis Khaan International Airport (ULN).
Mongolia eVisa Application Form
To apply for the Mongolian eVisa, you must complete a short online process. Gather the required documentation beforehand and check if you have access to your email.

- Upload the necessary documents. Submit the required documentation saved in a digital form.
- Pay the visa processing fee. Choose one of the many available safe payment methods.
Your Mongolia eVisa application should be processed within 5 working days. However, delays can happen in some situations. You can check your visa status online.

Validity Period
All online visa types for Mongolia (Tourism, Sports and Culture, Transit) remain valid for 150 days from the issue date.
Moreover, they allow for a single entry into Mongolia. It means that even if your visa validity period hasn’t ended, you won’t be able to return to Mongolia on the same visa.
With the Tourism Visa and Sports and Culture Visa, you can spend 30 days in Mongolia. The Transit Visa grants you a visit for 10 days.
Required Documents
The requirements for a Mongolian electronic visa are minimal:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from the travel date
- Applicant’s formal face photo
- Return or onward travel flight ticket
You may be required to submit supporting documents upon the request of the Mongolian immigration office.
