eVisa to Kenya: Basic Information

An eVisa to Kenya is an electronic document that authorizes travel to Kenya. Common recipients are tourists and businesspeople.

  • Types of eVisa

    There are three types of eVisa to Kenya:

    Tourism eVisa– single entry eVisa for tourism purposes (a holiday, visiting friends or relatives, etc.) Valid for 90 days, starting on the date of approval. Good for visits of up to 90 consecutive days.

    Business eVisa – single entry eVisa for business purposes (taking part in a conference, negotiating a business contract, etc.) Valid for 90 days, starting on the date of approval. Good for visits of up to 90 consecutive days.

    Transit eVisa– for purposes of transit through Kenya to another destination. The maximum allowed stay in Kenya on a Tansit eVisa is 72 hours.

  • eVisa to Kenia Application Form

    To proceed with your application, please use the panel on the left side of this website. Please choose the purpose for travel: tourist, business, medical or transit - and please select your nationality which matches with the one on your passport. Click on “apply online” and fill your application.

  • eVisa Validity Period

    Tourism and Business eVisas are all single entry visas good for stays of up to 3 months. All three kinds of eVisa must be used within 90 days of approval; the bearer of the eVisa must enter and leave Kenya within the eVisa validity period.
    The maximum allowed stay in Kenya on a Tansit eVisa is 72 hours.

  • eVisa Transit Information

    All bearers of passports from eligible countries must be in possession of an eVisa in order to transit through Kenya. The maximum allowed stay in Kenya on a Tansit eVisa is 72 hours.

  • Requirements on Arrival

    All you need to apply for an eVisa is a valid passport from an eligible country. Before your journey, you must print a copy of your eVisa, which will be presented to travel authorities at your point of arrival. Your eVisa may be printed in black and white.

    – Photograph of the applicant (digital) which meets passport photo standards

  • Business eVisa

    Citizens of eligible countries must provide:

    – Scan or digital photo of the bio-data page of the applicant's passport
    – Photograph of the applicant (digital) which meets passport photo standards
    – Letter of invitation from a Kenyan company, or copy of registration of the company of the applicant

  • Transit eVisa

    Citizens of eligible countries must provide:

    – Scan or digital photo of the bio-data page of the applicant's passport
    – Photograph of the applicant (digital) which meets passport photo standards
    – Onward ticket
