Qatar e-Visa Application

Qatar e-Visa: Basic information

Qatar e-Visa is an online visa that is easily obtainable in an electronic form for all eligible travelers after completing a quick and intuitive online application process. The electronic visa system was introduced in Qatar in 2017 to ease the visa handling process for foreign visitors.

The electronic Qatar visa is available to hundreds of countries worldwide. Moreover, the online visa application process can be completed within a few minutes from home, ending with the approved e-Visa arriving at the applicant's email address in PDF form.

Citizens from the countries listed as eligible can now apply online and receive their electronic visas within 5 business days.

The online Qatar tourist visa serves as a single-entry permit that allows its holders to stay in Qatar for up to 30 days assuring a 30-day validity period. The only exception is the online transit visa, which stays effective for 4 days (96 hours).

Future Middle East visitors may apply for four e-Visa for Qatar types, depending on their nationality or purpose of visit.

To make one's entry to Qatar successful, all visitors should have a valid passport and a printed copy of the approved online visa.

  • Qatar e-Visa types

No matter what type you are eligible for, the Qatar e-Visa has to be printed out and taken with you to the airport. There are four different electronic visa to Qatar types; applicant's nationality decides which one the traveler can apply for. There's:

    • ETA: Electronic Travel Authorization permit is designed for people who are not eligible to enter Qatar visa-free but who have a valid residence permit or a visit visa to one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, USA, New Zealand, or any of the Schengen Area country.

It serves as a single-entry permit that allows its holders to stay in Qatar for 30 days. Only service fees need to be paid.

Please note! Suppose you do not have a valid residence permit or a valid visit visa to the listed countries. In that case, you can still apply for an Online Tourist Visa (e-Visa to Qatar), provided your country is listed as eligible for the e-Visa to Qatar. (See the List of Eligible Countries section.)

    • Online Tourist Visa: The online tourist visa is designed for citizens of countries who are not eligible for ETA and neither for the visa-free entrance. Qatar e-Visa is a single-entry permit that allows 30 days of stay in Qatar. The validity period of 30 days starts on the date of arrival.

    • Transit Visa: Designed for travelers from every country worldwide who transit through Qatar. Each traveler has to stay at least 5 hours on arrival to be eligible for this entry permit. The validity period is 96 hours (4 days).

    • GCC Residents Visa: It is a single-entry permit thatallows its holders to stay in Qatar for 30 days (or renew the visa for the next 3 months). Designed for all GCC (the Gulf Cooperation Council) residents.

Nationals of the GCC countries can enter Qatar visa-free.
